What color is your 2-year-old's room painted?

I am pregnant, so that means that my son gets to move across the hall to the bigger bedroom! I'm leaving the nursery as it is since it is painted green. It will work for a girl also. I can't decide what color to paint my son's room. I'm considering using the same green as the nursery since I love it. I'm also thinking of pale blue, but is that too cliche? Right now it has an extremely old/bad paint job, so I have to change it before he moves rooms. What color is your kid's room painted? He's not yet able to tell me what he wants. He doesn't watch TV or have many licensed toys, so he wouldn't pick one of those themes. My best guess right now is that he'd like cats and dogs.

  1. My two year olds are now 19, 21, and 23, but I made the boy's room light blue, and the girls' room light pink.
  2. you should paint it the same color because it works for a boy or a girl
  3. My daughter is 2 and hers is a neutral yellow and our baby's room is neutral green
  4. it's a light green with blue violet wooden letters of the child's name white furniture... i would use 2 different colors and paint the room different so you have another place to visit..
  5. At 2 my son had a dark blue.. with white trim.. My husband was a house painter at the time and we just mixed up a couple of colors to get a couple of gallons of paint. You might want to ask your son what his favorite color is and go from there.
  6. My 2y/o daughter and 4y/o daughter share. Their room is light blue. My 4y/o son's is dark purple and black. His choice :) Powder pink for girls and pale blue for boys is just too cliche.
  7. My son's is Tan and Navy Daughters is a light pink and dark pink, but hard shades, not bright.
  8. Congratulations on your new baby! We moved into a new home when my son was 2. My husband I are big sports fans, so we decided to paint the room blue and red for the Atlanta Braves. I painted the walls dark blue from the waist down. Then I painted boards red and nailed them along the blue line for a "chair rail" effect. I got white hat hooks and hung them in a couple of locations, so he could hang hats, coats, etc up. Then I went to Fathead.com and purchased Brave decals. They were around $100. I got a big "Braves" to put over his bed and some smaller decals that I put around the room. We have textured walls and the decals still stuck to the walls. Now that my son is 4, he wants his room done in Spiderman. I got lucky that Spiderman's colors are blue and red, so I only have to change his bedding and the decals. Have you asked your son what he wants? He might like to do his room in Yo Gabba Gabba, Cars, or another cartoon. Target has some decals that make it easier to decorate. Hope this helps.
