What shipping option should I use on Ebay for large items?

I've got 2 teen/children bedroom sets: 2 beds, nightstands, dressers, and matresses. When I first listed the items, I put them up for local pickup because shipping would probably cost a lot.

  1. Check prices with FedEx, UPS, etc., for freight rates. It's doable, but not cheap. 150 pounds freight across the country 3rd day would cost well over $300 (and I'm taking that from a commercial contract that's well-discounted.) Even ground isn't much cheaper when you get heavy.
  2. Dont you think it would be easier to list on Craigslist. People are less likely to buy from you if they have to pick up in person. They have to live in your area or pay a shipper to pick up items. There is no shipping option because of these huge items unless you want to pack them up and have them picked up and charge the buyer for freight. It is still Local Pickup.
  3. Shipping items like this are very expensive. In addition they will need to be boxed. I would suggest Craigslist or Backpage.com locally.
