Homemade teen bedroom decorating ideas?

I have decided to redecorate my room over a school break and I need some ideas, tips, etc. I share a room with my sister, she's 9 and im 16 and it isn't very big, but it works. We have one window, and a big walk in closet. Our beds are both a light brown-wood color and are L shaped in front of the window. Our furniture in the room itself is 2 sets of dressers, a chair, and a vanity, everything else is in the closet. We have five colors we know we want to incoperate in their: pink, Lime green, a bright yellow, a bright blue, and some bright orange. i know it's really bright but we want it to be bright and happy looking. What i need to know is some homemade decor ideas and which colors to put on what walls, what color curtains, etc. i want the room to be super comfy, cozy, loud, and vibrant if possible.

  1. You could paint it hot pink and put a 'fathead' of Justin Beiber on the wall. (you will have to provide barf bags when guys come over)
  2. I suggest looking at this website, that room in particular looks like a room that maybe you and your sister may like. http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Dorm-Rooms/Girls-Dorm-Room-Fun--Functional-with-homemade-headboards/detail.esi?oid=6692977 But if you dont like that one you can get a lot of other ideas from there. Target, bed bath and beyond, and walmart are all places I would suggest you shop at to find some good stuff. I think getting a good matching comforter and curtains really make a difference when decorating a room so pay close attention to that.
  3. Visit this website www.hdtv.com they got pretty cool ideas>
  4. As young girls, you have come up with a wonderful palette of colors for your room. It is important not to overdo the bright colors. Here's a fancy suggestion - paint the walls a soft pink (not loud color). Then with the brighter colors paint thought bubbles or statement bubbles (like in comic books) and write stuff in - you can do just words like 'Awesome', 'Dream Aloud'; or anything that comes to your mind - 'Feel the Rain', 'Music, my love' - know what I mean? The curtains can be bright yellow with lime green sashes! Hope you have a blast with your decorating. Once done maybe you could post on my site? :)
