What color should I paint the walls to go with contemporary lacquered cherry furniture and gray bedspread?

The bedroom furniture is a shiny lacquered cherry with silver/pewter handles and legs. The bedspread is dark multi gray with a light "tannish" trim. Would not like the trim color for the walls. The lamps are a light pewter. Floor is hardwood- light redish beech. This is a teen girl's room. She originally wanted dark purple walls. I said no! I was thinking a medium color with bright accents, perhaps. thanks for the ideas. sorry, I should have thought to add links. I'm sure it will help. 1. Three white walls and a burgundy "feature wall" behind the bed.
  2. Try a color of the opposite side of the colors wheel, if you want the colors to stand out and the room to be vibrant. Pick up the "tannish" trim for the trim on the walls to unit. Take a color next to your color on the color wheel if you want to stay in the same color pattern. If she insists on purple, be sure to pick a shade that doesn't clash with the exciting reddish tones and give her an accent wall and the rest in a much lighter tone of this purple. I wished I could see the colors, because although red and purple seem to be odd next to each other it could be interesting if the shades go with each other. The silver/pewter things would make the accents.
  3. white!!
  4. they sell pearlised paints or maybe go with a color as the pewter...I said maybe lol ..what other color did she like. Maybe a light gray or silver give her dark purple curtains add accent pillows a rug in the purple she would like meet her half way here is some room in purple http://inter1or.com/decoration/decoration/decorating-with-purple/ here are some rooms with cherry furniture https://furniturefromhome.com/category/Cherry http://www.roomstogokids.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=ktg.showRoom&roo_id=3226
  5. Light peach? She could have dark purple for rugs and curtains.
  6. You've got some nice things to work with. The furniture, wood floors and the lovely bedding. When hired to paint "kids" rooms, I always advise the parent/s to choose the colors that they would like and then present a few or more selections to the child/teen. This way the child likes the idea of choosing the color and the parent has preselected colors that they can "live" with, so to speak. In your case, I would go to the paint store alone and choose some purples that you think look good with the bedding (take a pillow sham or something with you). Many shades of purple will look great with your furniture, bedding and flooring. I would stay away from dark purples. Look for medium shades of purple, some leaning toward gray. Also bring home some light purples and light grays. Let your daughter choose from your selections (the ones acceptable to you). This way, she gets to choose a color in the color family that she likes but you have first preselected them. I definitely think your daughter is correct in choosing a purple color. It will look great. Hopefully this works for you both.
  7. Get down to a paint shop and try the colours there. I rather like the idea of a green, maybe a lime green.
