Two combined bedroom sets?

My husband and I combined our bedroom sets when we got married. We have my chest of drawers, nightstand and bed. Then his dresser, mirror and nightstand. They are all the same wood finish, and are fairly basic pieces. We decorated our bedroom in neutrals (green, tan, brown, etc.) We also switched out all the handles so they are the same on all furniture. He's convinced that our bedroom looks great, and calls it a "him/her" set. But I'm not sure that it works. Any opinions?

  1. It sounds like it would be fine, you even went through the trouble of switching out handles. Think about it this way, how often do you look at the furniture? You go to bed to sleep, you wake up and go to the shower. Occasionally you go in to put laundry away. That's maybe 15 minutes of awake time a day. Unless you're holding dinner parties in the bedroom, it sounds like your furniture arrangement is just fine.
  2. of course am kind of in the dark here without being there to see it... BUT it sounds creative and green ... I think I'd like it very much
  3. As long as the wood type/color is the same and because you took the time to swap out all the handles to the same type, it's fine. What a neat idea to reuse/recycle! Just think, in time when your living space grows, you'll have pieces to put in a second bedroom.
