  1. Most important - you don't add up the percentages. 12% discount takes $6300 to 0.88*6300 = $5544 8% discount takes $5544 to 0.92*5544 = $5100.48 4% discount takes $5100.48 to 0.96*5100.48 = $4896.46 EDIT. The question is ambiguous. I have interpreted the question as meaning successive discounts in one deal. The next person has interpreted it as three separate deals. Either could be correct.
  2. Before I answer your question, I want you to know that in my sources I included a link on how to convert percentages into decimals, just in case you didn't know how. :) Here is the answer: Actually, you should get 3 answers for each of the 3 discounts (12%, 8%, 4%). If you have a 12% discount off of $6,300 then your math should look like this: 12% = .12 <--- Convert the Percentage .12 x 6,300 = 756 <--- Find the amount discounted 6,300 - 756 = 5,544 <--- Subtract the discount from original number. Your 1st answer is $5,544 To find your second answer, do the steps again, but with 8% instead of 12%. 8% = .08 .08 x 6,300 = 504 6,300 - 504 = 5,796 Your 2nd answer is $5,796 Finally, do the steps again with 4% instead of 8%. 4% = .04 .04 x 6,300 = 252 6,300 - 252 = $6,048 Your FINAL ANSWERS are now: 1) $5,544 2) $5,796 3) $6,048 I hope this helps, and GOOD LUCK!!! :D
