I need some teen girl bedroom decorating ideas?

I'm almost 16 now, and I got a new bedroom set for my 13th birthday. I was in love with it then, but now I've realized that I have sooo much furniture in my room. My bed takes up the entire center of my room, and it can't be moved because it has a headboard with shelves as well as book shelves on either side. How can I make my bedroom look more open? Also, my walls are currently a pretty lavender color, but it doesn't match my personality at all. I'm not girly, and I don't want a chic or girly room. I want to to be contemporary, and I want it to show of my love for music. I already have these really cool music frames on my walls and a music-note quilt on my bed. One thing I really want to do is change my curtains. I'm happy with my plain white curtains but it's the sheer that hangs over them that I don't love any more. They have pink and purple butterflies all over them and a lime green layer that goes across. I love the green part, so I want to keep that. I just need sheer curtains with a new, more modern, sophisticated but fun look to them. I was hoping to find music-related ones but I haven't. I also have a small budget right now. My favorite colors, which I'd love to bring out in my room, are bright green (like the color of a granny smith apple) and royal blue. I'm trying to stay away from light purples and pinks, but a splash of hot pink or a bright purple would be okay. I'm also in need of throw pillows to replace stuffed animals. My sheets are purple and green polka dots. My comforter is double-sided, purple, white, blue, and green stripes or polka dots. Any cheap ideas? thanks:D

  1. When I was 16 I redone my bedroom too. I painted the walls with thick horizontal stripes Neon pink, Neon green, and Neon orange. I also took the bed and hung it from chains on the ceiling. So I had a swinging bed. No headboard or anything, just the mattress and the thing under it for the chains to hook to.
