decorating a teen bedroom?

hey im decorating my room this summer. im 16 and i want it to be like cute but not to little girl-ish! haha. but i need help with like theme/designs, bedding, accesories, and other cute things that would go in a bedroom! any ideas!

2. Try looking at websites like ikea.com and see what kind of things appeal to you. Do you like bold modern lines and bold patterns? Or maybe you prefer soft colors or florals? What is your favorite color? There is a wonderful red/black/white bedding line that would be feminine & yet modern for a teenage girl. "Winding Lane" may have been the name of the bedding line and it wasn't childish or too cute. Ask your parents if you can paint the walls. If you or your friends are artistic, you could paint your name or quotes on the wall to accent your decor. You could also hang a set of curtains behind your bed to "frame" your bed. You could print pictures of yourself and friends in black and white and hang them in groups above a desk or dresser. Good luck!
