What is the best inexpensive home theater system for a small bedroom?
My equipment includes a HP Slimline Computer attached to a 40" Samsung LCD TV utilizing Windows Vista Media Center. I am currently using a pioneer receiver and 2 sony book shelf speakers. I would be open to using computer speakers.

- Your receiver is capable of 5.1, yes? If so, just pick up another pair of bookshelf speakers, and a small subwoofer. There's your 5.1. Then plug your desired audio inputs into the receiver. If you're looking for something entirely new, I used to use a set of computer speakers for my bedroom's surround sound system. Creative Lab makes a kit for about $300 or so. It comes with the surround sound decoder, set of Cambridge speakers and an unpowered subwoofer. The deocder only had 1 optical audio input, 1 digital coax input, and 1 analog stereo (red/white RCA cables) input. So, if you have multiple devices, this may not work for you. For $300, it worked pretty well and was powerful enough for a 10'x10' bedroom. However, I suspect your book shelf speakers are probably better.
- Give Bose a try.
