Getting Sky with virgin media phoneline (and other queries)?

Hi guys. I'm looking to get Sky (maybe Sky +) installed in my bedroom early next year. The situation is that my family currently have Virgin Media's television, broadband and phone service installed downstairs. The Sky will just be for myself (I'll be paying from my own money) but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it: a) upstairs and b) with a virgin media phoneline. I'm not really clued up and the Sky site doesn't really help. Any information would be really appreciated. Thanks I'm not interested in getting Virgin unless there's absolutely no way I can get Sky. It's the missing channels on Virgin that is making me opt for Sky (I don't want to miss another season of Lost ).

  1. if i were u, i would get virgin too - much better customer service and i find a better brand. if you also say to them about other peole having virgin in your household, you can get a discount or partial refund which will kick in on your account andyour familys in a few months time - just be cheeky and tell them it would be worth their while to giveyou an offer. i was told if i recommend anyone we both get 50 quid back after having the new persons one installed after 3 months ...
  2. IF YOUR USING VIRGIN WHICH IS ON CABLE U CANT USE PHONE LINE FOR BT WHICH U NEED FOR SKY HOPE THIS HELPS
  3. You should be able to get sky with a virgin line as i have the virgin phone and sky + I used to have virgin (NTL) TV and its rubbish don't get it, mine kept crashing all the time and i was forever calling them to put it right, the same problem lies with my mother to, who's changing to sky at Xmas, our neighbours the same too, As i said though earlier as long as you have a phone line in your room there should be no problem, the phone line is only for updates and information on sky active and they'll be glad of your business than going to virgin.
