looking for creative ideas for a 14 year olds bedroom. Paint colors and cool furniture.?

1. Howabout pastel-ish blue, purple and green? Im not too sure about cool furniture though...anything with a sort of modern design that is either black, or easily paintable (furniture doesnt seem to come in the above colors more often than not).
2. the pastel colors above and a brass day bed!! Make it into a sitting room effect
